Meeting Fashion Photographer David Shama

The Cafe where I met David Shama for coffee and an interview...

Prior to leaving for France I thought to email my favourite photographer David Shama, who lives in Paris, for an interview. He was really polite and met up with me and my friend Kate at this little cafe near his apartment. It was such an opportunity and one I won't forget. It was his first ever face to face interview and I feel priviledged that I conducted it!

I have yet to write up the interview, all I have our frantically written scribbles in a notebook. I want to take my time over the article. But I will leave the post with a few quotes from David...

"You have to adapt...if you try to be too close to an idea when shooting, you can ignore what's in front of you. I just go with the flow."

"I am interested in architecture, I walk alround alot, I get my inspiration from these things and also film. Recently 'Let the Right One In' has caught my eye in film."

"I tell my models to play a character. Never to be static and not to pose. To conjure up emotion I tell them to think of something or someone for example they're boyfriend..."
